Every year, the LPA celebrates Hispanic Heritage Month through our #YoSoy Campaign—created to celebrate our rich diversity, culture, and contributions to the Greater Madison area. This year, our theme is Yo Soy El Cambio. Because we know a better tomorrow doesn’t exist if we don’t advocate and step up to change and challenge the systems that have never worked for us, or included us, this year our campaign focuses on the much-needed cambios that are taking place throughout our community. But we know we can’t change systems alone, we need you to let your voice be heard because you are el cambio.
Help us kickoff our Yo Soy El Cambio campaign with our first event of Hispanic Heritage Month, as we gather at Breese Stevens’ rooftop to watch the Forward Madison take on North Carolina on Saturday, September 17th. Arrive at 4pm for a chance to meet and greet and hear from our 2022 Yo Soy awardees, who will be featured in next month’s issue of the Capital City Hues. While we’ll wait for the September 7th Hues to reveal their identities, we’ll divulge that our awardees all exemplify a contagious enthusiasm, relentless pursuit of Latino advancement, commitment to the grind, day-in and day-out community presence, and, above all, a positive, uplifting attitude. They are el cambio we aspire to.
